ENDLESS CHORES!!!!!
As a child I remember having chores to do. As I got older I still had chores but There were more of them, they were different, & my parents expected it to be done better than when I was younger. I recall a day when I was real young & I was wishing I was a "grown up" so I could be the boss & not have anymore chores. I laugh as I sit back and think of this now. Since my children do have chores (a lot from what I am told by people outside my family) But somehow I still have endless chores everyday. Some days, I turn up the music & get things done with joy in my step and a smile on my face. Other days, I sit there looking at the things that need to be done & dread getting started. I have realized how having chores as a child really does prepare kids for adulthood. Every now & then I call my mother just to tell her thanks & to tell her how amazing she is. I don't remember any complaining (maybe I just forgot that part LOL) All I know is it shows me how important things are and the lessons you learn when you are a child really do help you in the real world. Now that my oldest daughter is 12yrs. old and could basically run the kitchen on her own, I enjoy watching how much she enjoys doing the "simple" things (making a cake from scratch) . All I can do now is hope she continues with the joy in her step. Even on my bad days, I love my job! I love staying home with my kids! I enjoy watching them learn new things and the smile they get when the realize how proud I am of them. It makes them want to do more. All three of them are my helpers. They all have different things to do. They love using my homemade cleaners. & I don't have to be worried about them using them. In my next post, I am going to include several of my favorite recipes for cleaning. Making these have also saved us a ton of money. I don't remember the last time I bought a multipurpose cleaner or a bottle of Windex. I hope you can experiment a bit & see what works for you. Not everything works for everyone! Ok now back to making dinner, then to folding laundry :)
