Large Family Logistics

by Kim Brenneman

I have read others & I will share some of them with you but I will always be looking for more on being the best I can be. Woman wear many hats & we do need help learning to do the best we can.
So I want to give you a little from our manual (The Holy Bible)

Titus 2:3-5  *Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. 4 Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children,5 to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.

Proverbs

The Wife of Noble Character

10 [b]A wife of noble character who can find?
    She is worth far more than rubies.
11 Her husband has full confidence in her
    and lacks nothing of value.
12 She brings him good, not harm,
    all the days of her life.
13 She selects wool and flax
    and works with eager hands.
14 She is like the merchant ships,
    bringing her food from afar.
15 She gets up while it is still night;
    she provides food for her family
    and portions for her female servants.
16 She considers a field and buys it;
    out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.
17 She sets about her work vigorously;
    her arms are strong for her tasks.
18 She sees that her trading is profitable,
    and her lamp does not go out at night.
19 In her hand she holds the distaff
    and grasps the spindle with her fingers.
20 She opens her arms to the poor
    and extends her hands to the needy.
21 When it snows, she has no fear for her household;
    for all of them are clothed in scarlet.
22 She makes coverings for her bed;
    she is clothed in fine linen and purple.
23 Her husband is respected at the city gate,
    where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.
24 She makes linen garments and sells them,
    and supplies the merchants with sashes.
25 She is clothed with strength and dignity;
    she can laugh at the days to come.
26 She speaks with wisdom,
    and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
27 She watches over the affairs of her household
    and does not eat the bread of idleness.
28 Her children arise and call her blessed;
    her husband also, and he praises her:
29 “Many women do noble things,
    but you surpass them all.”
30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
    but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
31 Honor her for all that her hands have done,
    and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

Proverbs 31:10-31

An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels. The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain. She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life. She seeks wool and flax, and works with willing hands. She is like the ships of the merchant; she brings her food from afar. ...

1 Peter 3:1

Likewise, wives, be subject to your own husbands, so that even if some do not obey the word, they may be won without a word by the conduct of their wives,

1 Peter 3:2-6

when they see your respectful and pure conduct. Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear— but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious. For this is how the holy women who hoped in God used to adorn themselves, by submitting to their own husbands, ...

The Bible says so  much about what kind of woman we should be, it is the 1st book everyone should open when trying to be better. Don't forget to pray! Talk to God as a friend, cry out to him. He is listening & he knows you want to your best to please him. (& your husband)

The Bible says a lot about married, parenting, & being a Godly female.

I think my very favorite verse is

Then the LORD God said, "It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him." So out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to the man to see what he would call them; and whatever the man called every living creature, that was its name. The man gave names to all cattle, and to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for the man there was not found a helper fit for him. (Genesis 2:18-20)

~I tell my husband all the time I was made for him! He always smiles & agrees. It is so true  I was created to help him! I am here to help him & to help him reach his goals. Yes I have to still have goals too & I do but my main purpose is to be his helper so I try to figure out what I can do to make his life better.

Some other books you may enjoy that I have read are.....

Remember your community heroes!

Today is the 11th anniversary of the attack on our country. Sept. 11th, 2001, many of us remember where we were the moment we found out about the twin towers attack. Well last year some friends of ours went to the fire stations around our town to give them some homemade sweets (cookies, cupcakes, etc.) So there I had decided that every year we would deliver & present our community heroes treats & cards on Sept. 11. Today we went to our  fire department in our tiny new  neighborhood  and since it is a volunteer department we were unable to speak or present them. Also because of area being so small the police station was also empty : ( the good thing is we know that they check in there & we left the cookies & brownies with the cards in ziplock bags in front of the door hoping someone will see them. I hope they realize how much we are grateful for them. After 9-11 I would think of all the terrible events that happened and would morn all over again. Having a tradition like this helps me and expresses how thankful we are. We will never forget!

Thank you to our US Troops, Police, Fire, & EMTs!!!
 Please  do what we do & take some time to pray for the families of the heroes past, present & future. living & no longer with us. And also take some time to thank a hero if not every day than on a day like this.
